WELCOME MESSAGE 2020/2021
Dear Students,
Welcome to the 2020-2021 School Year.
I am counting on You to make this a very good year at learning English.
For those of you returning to our school, I am glad to have you back as you continue your journey to the graduation stage. Keep up the good work.
For the first grade students who are just joining our community, I encourage you to make the most of your time. So much depends on your actions, don't let yourself or anybody else limit your opportunities. I keep my fingers crossed for your achievements.
As you start a new school year, take advantage of the technology available to help you become really good at English. Never before did we have so many online resources and services, so let’s try to make the best use of them to advance your skills.
Our stationary lessons will be in room 129 which (hopefully soon) will get modernized. In the meantime, however, the most important piece of technology is in your hands :]
Your first task will be to get to know your online learning tools. That doesn’t mean throwing away books, paper notebooks and pencils. They are here to stay and blend in with the technology.
WHAT YOU NEED IN CLASS (and at home) is a smartphone, internet access, headphones, notebook, pencil, course books ---> SB (student’s book) and WB (workbook) if needed.
WHAT WILL BE EXPECTED OF YOU is a certain degree of independence and responsibility. Having you sit in lessons yawning, looking at me and the blackboard is not an option. You will take things in your own hands, learn to plan your lesson time, document your work on Google Classroom and collaborate with your friends to accomplish communication tasks and get points. Afterwards you will be required to report your work and achievements to me - your manager and guide.
Autonomy, adaptability and creativity are becoming more and more important in our fast advancing new world.
Along with developing communicative skills, working on your learner autonomy through blended learning will be the main goal this year.
GENERAL CLASS RULES:
-
in and outside of class try to communicate in English only

EMERGENCY CONTACT - if you really need to contact me after 5 p.m. please use Messenger or FB closed group for my students ‘ROOM 129’ (when joining the group state your full name and class so I can identify you). I am planning to use this group to post some additional material or information.
I encourage you to get involved and participate in student government, we have a closed group on FB ‘SU ZS3’ which you can join to become an active member.
During the year I hope to have many opportunities to learn more about you and your plans for your future. I am looking forward to it.
